The Town & Country Animal Hospital was originally a leasehold facility located in a shopping center in South Miami until Hurricane Andrew devastated most of South Florida and destroyed the original hospital. rfa was subsequently retained to design a new cutting-edge, freestanding facility at a nearby site. The Central Treatment Room contains four treatment tables, all served by a shared rotating "lazy-suzan" service and instrument cabinet. The new hospital also includes canine boarding with glass door runs, feline boarding in cat condos with individual exterior windows, a retail area and a grooming suite. Town and Country Animal Hospital won the Veterinary Economics Hospital of the Year Award for 1997.
