Set far back on its site due to an electric power easement that criss-crosses the property, the Animal Medical Center in Tennessee had to be designed to be seen by passing motorists traveling far from the building. This required a significant vertical element at the front of the building. The central tower, which also marks the front entrance, not only successfully accomplished this goal, but soon became the hospitals identifying feature. The facility is divided into three major components: a full-service hospital, a large boarding facility (Phase 2) and a central retail pet supply store that connects the hospital to the future boarding facility.
