The owners of Clark Animal Care Center wanted to build a warm and family-friendly animal hospital; the whimsical dog and cat column capitals certainly put a smile on the face of anyone entering the building. Patients and their loving guardians are then further welcomed inside by cathedral ceilings and even a children's play area. rfa designed this 8,640 SF state-of-the-art veterinary medical facility in three phases. A second-phase expansion on the ground level planned to include pet boarding and grooming functions, and the third phase of expansion in the building's basement included an obedience and training school as well as a conference room. In 1994, Clark Animal Care Center won a Merit Award in Veterinary Economics' Hospital Design Competition.
